Frequently Asked Questions

We have a quick emergency response time of 30 to 60 minutes depending on the location and availability of our engineers.
The time it takes to unblock a drain will depend on the size and type of blockage. Upon visiting your premises our drainage engineers will survey your drains in order to assess the blockage and to complete the unblock. Usually blocked drains can be resolved within 1-2 hours but can take longer depending on the nature of the blockage.
We recommend that home and business owners prevent the flushing of non-biodegradable items down your drains via toilets. Items include baby wipes, sanitary pads, condoms and so on should not be flushed down toilets and instead disposed of in a bin. After food preparation and cooking, you should scrape any food bits, cooking oils and fats directly into bins before washing your cutlery, pans and plates in a sink. Regular drain surveys are also recommended to ensure blockages are prevented or dealt with.
For an average survey of 2 or 3 manholes can take approximately 2 hours to complete a CCTV drain survey. Once a drain survey has been scheduled, our engineers will travel to your premises. The time taken for the drain survey can be affected by the depth and size of your drains and the level of access our engineers have to your manholes.
A typical drain unblock will take around 1 hour but it can take longer depending on the size of your blockage. Our expert drainage engineers will need to perform a CCTV drain survey before knowing the extent of the blockage and then deciding on the relevant action to take to resolve your blockage.
CCTV drain survey's are necessary when you experience issues with your drains. These issues often include blockages, slow flushing/draining toilets or peculiar smells coming up from drains. A CCTV drain survey is essential to identify where these issues are and help drain engineers establish the best course of action to alleviate them.
Ideally a CCTV drain survey should be performed for older houses and buildings, or for buildings with a previous history of drainage problems. By identifying and addressing any drainage issues with a CCTV drain survey this can also help with the sale price of homes and swing a buyer's final buying decision in your favour.
