Drain relining, UV lining and CIPP lining

UV Relining
Large-diameter sewer and drain lines can benefit from pipe lining technologies

Drain 24/7 is approved installers and offers a Drain relining, UV lining and CIPP lining process. Our installers bring a high standard of quality, safety and integrity to the relining industry. We have the capability of lining pipes with diameters ranging from 75mm to 450mm, where excavation would be impractical due to location or depth. A range of lining options is available, to suit different applications. This includes both ambient and thermally cured systems.

UV Lining

Using the UV lining process instead of other cured-in-place liners are due to a number of reasons. Firstly, it is less costly and faster to install, employing the use of ultra-violet light compared to the typical use of hot water, reducing the potential environmental impact from disposal of the contaminated waste water once the lining process has been completed.

The liner is placed into the pipe and inflated until it covers the damaged pipe, once this has been done, an ultra-violet light train is pushed through the pipework at a set speed, curing the lining material as it passes. Once the process has finished, the lining ends are cut off and trimmed to the correct size; any laterals that has been lined over will be re-opened with a robotic cutter. Another advantage of using UV lining is that it does not require a full road closure as.

Damage to drains is typically caused by in-growing tree roots, voids created by broken pipes, and ground-water leaking into the pipe. drain 247 provides pipe lining to repair damaged drains without the cost and disruption of excavation.

Patch liners can be used to repair localized damage where full end-to-end lining would be unnecessary. This method involves placing a piece of impregnated matter on an elongated inflatable bladder and guiding it into place with the help of a CCTV camera. When it is precisely located, the bladder is inflated, pressing the patch into place. The pressure is maintained until the patch has cured, the bladder is then deflated and withdrawn, and the job is done. Patch liners are becoming increasingly popular for dealing with isolated defects, offering a cost-effective alternative to a full liner or other repair.

The Benefits of Re-lining or Patching

  • Quickly installed without excavation causing minimal disruption
  • Forms a structural and durable new pipe within the old
  • Bridges and seals gaps, holes and cracks
  • Resistant to chemical attack
  • Resistant to corrosion
  • Forms to any shape of pipe
  • Improves flow characteristics
  • Substantial cost saving over conventional reconstruction methods
  • Available for pipe diameters of
  • 100mm to 1200mm
  • Industrial effluent protection
  • Environmentally friendly

Pitch fibre pipework

A growing problem in drainage pipe is decaying of pitch fibre pipe, Widely used from the 1960s onwards, pitch fibre was developed as a cheap alternative to clay piping . Unfortunately the material has deficiencies which render it susceptible to deformation and blistering, as the layers separate and the pipe delaminates . A new solution to the problem. Until recently, the solution has been to completely renew the drain in question. Drain 24/7 can now offer a more straightforward and simple answer

The pitch fibre pipework can be ‘re-rounded’ using hydraulically inflated packers or metal pigs A liner is then applied to provide internal structural support, restoring it to use This process can be completed within a single working day – a financially attractive and hassle-free alternative to complete pipework renewal. Having the right equipment and experienced personnel guarantees us to plan and reliably manage any scope of pitch fibre work.
